Thailand’s first Nature Protection Training Center will be opened on Sunday, 10 October 2004, in Khao Yai National Park, a popular national park among nature lovers and a drive of about two hours and a half from Bangkok.
Thailand’s first national park, Khao Yai covers an area of 2,168 square kilometers in four provinces: Prachin Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Nayok, and Saraburi. It was officially declared a national park on 18 September 1962. Vegetation is highly diverse, with around 2,000-2,500 plant species. About 60 mammal and 300 bird species have been recorded in this national park.
Early morning, pick up at your hotel and drive towards Khao Yai National Park. Our first stop will be at a local market at Nakorn Nayok, where many kinds of fruit, vegetable and food items are on display. During this trip we will also see many birds and butterflies and hopefully we get to see some other wildlife as well. The sound of the gibbon is unique and breathtaking and to hear this in the morning is a fantastic experience. The area at Khao Yai national park is gorgeous and one of the natural highlights here is the beautiful waterfall Haew Narok, where we can relax. When we arrive at the park, we will take you to the visitor's center where information is available about Khao Yai's nature and wildlife.
